Candace Adams
I have been piercing for about four years now, and people often ask me, "How did you get into piercing?"
It seems like the answer to that would be a short and simple one, much like, "How long have you lived in
St. Catharines?" But to me, "getting into piercing" wasn't about the first time I put on a pair of Nitrile gloves, or the first time I held a needle. I knew I was supposed to be a piercer when I saw the chain
running from a nostril piercing to an earlobe piercing in a Skid Row video, and I was the only 6 year old
girl to fall in love with it. Though I still hold my love for 80's skid metal, thankfully I have lost interest in the cheek decor.
The point is, I have been passionate about intrusive body modifications since long before I can
pin point, and when Bob saw it in me, he opened the door and gave me a place to share my abilities with
the world. It wasn't long after that everything fell into place, and with extensive research, an apprenticeship under Tanya "Hellbomb" Paulin, and the patience of some "guinea pig" freinds, I was sucessfully
doing surface piercings, complex ear projects, and covering all the piercings in the "adult" realm.
"I love doing what I do, and I think it is apparent by seeing the work that I do, and the satisfaction
on the faces of my clients when they leave here. The simplest of piercings makes me happy, and any
project or challenge makes me glow with the excitement of knowing I will never
be done learning and growing in this industry."
